but do you really honestly thing border guards are going to conduct the rumored “iPod searches” as stated over a year ago in news articles? of goddamned course not. is all your content going to be deemed illegal? let’s say you don’t have your laptop and just your iPod so of course, you can’t tell what you have the DRM for or not, what are they going to do? are they going to waste THIS MUCH TIME on this when it already takes more than long enough to cross borders? do they expect you to carry receipts for everything you’ve ever purchased? what about legitimate free content?
they won’t just seize everything because it’ll get them in hot water eventually, they won’t be able to tell what’s what, and nobody’s going to pay for the extra agents required at the border to make this go smoothly.
you know what? i might be wrong! but as far as i’m concerned, this is not only the last of your worries, but fucking impossible to conduct which is why many ways around it have been proposed by countries participating in ACTA - ie moving in and out non-commercial personal goods.
what really boils my shit is that the wikileaks twitter used “ipod searches at the border” and linked to an article about ACTA that doesn’t even fucking mention iPod searches. stop with the fearmonger garbage.
